We aim to offer a friendly and approachable referral service combining a wealth of experience across a spectrum of disciplines with a realistic approach to case management and pricing.

 

 

Facilities Available

 

Our Thornbury Hospital is a large purpose-built facility with:

 

 

On-site lab offering coagulation, electrolytes, ionised calcium, lasercyte haematology, blood gases, biochemistry and cytology

 

 

Multiple Disciplines Available in a Single Site

 

We have Certificate holders in small animal internal medicine, ophthalmology, surgery and dermatology supported by an excellent team of experienced practitioners and VNs and with MRI scanning where required.

MRI Scanning

 

'We have access to a mobile MRI unit on a regular basis at our Armley surgery. If you have any cases which you think might benefit from MRI scanning with or without input from our surgeons and medics then we would be more than happy to discuss them and the practical aspects of arranging a scan with you.

Cases generally amenable to MRI scanning would include:

-seizures
-behaviour changes
-cranial nerve deficits
-ataxia
-cervical pain/pruritus
-central vestibular disease
-middle/inner ear disease
-suspected disc prolapse
-lumbo-sacral disease, cauda equina syndrome and 'CDRM'
-Hyperadrenocorticism (assessment of pituitary and/or adrenal lesions)
-intra-pelvic lesions
-nasal and peri-nasal sinus disease
-ocular/orbital lesions
-lameness -especially elbow, shoulder and stifle
-brachial plexus lesions
-abdominal masses (e.g. adrenal or hepatic masses to assess extent of invasion)
-oncology cases: staging and pre-surgical assessment
