Stephen shows how to apply flea treatment to your dog or cat. Regular preventative parasite control is advised in order to keep your pet fit and healthy throughout the year.
Flea Treatment Information
Applying spot on treatments is a simple process, but it is important to get it right for the treatment to work. The best place to apply the treatment is to the back of the neck, between the shoulder blades. The hair of your pet should be parted, and the medication should then be applied directly to the skin. You should also avoid washing your pet for two days after application to ensure that the product is able to work properly.
If you would like to order any parasite control products, please give your local Yorkshire Vets surgery a call. You can find the number for each surgery on the relevant surgery page. To access these, select from the surgeries menu at the top of the page. Don’t forget that our Pet Health Club provides all of the preventative treatment that your dog, cat or rabbit need over the course of the year.
For households that are struggling with long term flea infestations, we recommend the use of household flea treatments. When used alongside spot on treatments, this should ensure that all fleas are eliminated from the environment. You can purchase household flea products over the counter at your local Yorkshire Vets surgery.
